Lost or Forgotten Combinations
Question: I have lost or forgotten my combination, is Master Lock able to reset the combination for me?
Answer: Resettable combination locks have a combination that is assigned by the owner of the lock. Therefore, Master Lock does not have record of the combination that the owner set. The lock cannot be reset unless it is in the open position. If your lock is attached to something, you will need to call a locksmith for removal. Please note that Master Lock does not reimburse for Locksmith services and/or fees.

Padlock Maintenance
Padlock Care and Maintenance
Question: How do I maintain a padlock?
Answer:

Regular cleaning and Lubrication of your padlock will ensure years of trouble-free use. Every Master padlock is ruggedly built for long life and trouble-free service. With minimal care, your Master padlock will provide security and smooth operation for many years to come. Here are a few tips that will help you keep your padlocks working efficiently:
Over time, dust, particles and chemicals in the air settle on and in the padlock. They can then create friction inside the precision locking and keying components and impede the opening and closing of the padlock.

What to lubricate:
The cylinder: when keys are hard to turn. Spray lubrication into the cylinder.
Actuator and Driver, Locking lever or ball bearings: lubricate when the shackle is hard to release. Spray the inside the shackle.

When to lubricate:
Annual cleaning is recommended. In very dusty or corrosive environments clean every three months. Lubrication frequency will depend on the environment and usage.

How to lubricate:
We suggest the best lubrications are dry lubricants such as a Silicon Spray.
Please ensure you NEVER use an oil or dry graphite lubricant. Oil attracts dust. Oil and graphite can also interfere with the movement of the pins in the locking mechanism.
